Zia Palmer is an artist, archivist, and family historian based in the D.C. metro area. Her practice is rooted in analog and alternative photographic processes and focuses on the relationship between land, time, and memory. She is interested in how these topics shape her own identity and the preservation of culture over time. Zia received a BFA in Art and Visual Technology with a concentration in photography from George Mason University. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries across the region including the Target Gallery, Gillespie Gallery, and Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art.
